I love the way the internet allows us to connect with women all over the world.  Here is Beverly with a passion for Cuba and Peru, living in a small town in New Zealand and leading tours for women and men to those magic destinations.

More about Beverly in her words…

My love affair with Latin America first began 30 years ago when I traveled to Peru as a backpacking tourist. I fell in love with the people, the colors, the landscapes, the markets, the weaving, and as life would have it I ended up staying!

I spent the next 12 years of my life living in Huancayo, Peru. A town surrounded by the Mantaro Valley mountains and its many indigenous craftspeople, in the Central Andes. I ran a popular local pizza restaurant and hostel, taught Spanish to visitors, and began a family. Peru became my second home. 

In 1996, we returned to New Zealand, but I knew part of my heart would always live in Latin America. So, for over seven years, it’s been my passion and privilege to share the beauty, wonders, and secrets of the places I love, and know intimately, with others through my small group tours.

I would say I’m an all five senses kind of traveler. I love nothing more than getting into the local atmosphere of a place and soaking it all up. I can be found in a bustling market trying on indigenous skirts, relaxing in an outdoor cafe enjoying a pisco sour or mojito (depending on the trip!), or perusing the local vendors for my favorite street eats. 

If there’s one thing I always pack, it’s lots of laughs …and versatile dresses.

When I’m not running a trip, you may find me teaching Spanish, gardening, or bringing the Latin American film festival to New Zealand. 

These trips are about making new stories, and I look forward to sharing in new adventures with you!
